Baptism
Baptism is an important and significant spiritual decision for those on a path to follow Christ. Many people find this an exciting and positive first step as they publicly profess their faith. Baptism is an outward demonstration of an inward change, as found in 2 Corinthians 5:17. “When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. The old life has passed away, and a new life has begun!”
We consider it a great blessing to be a part of this wonderful celebration of your faith. It is a blessing to the church body and serves as an example for others who wish to follow in these same steps.
What is the significance of Baptism?
Baptism is a public declaration of three very important things:
You are a follower of Jesus Christ. “Those who accepted his message were baptized.” —Acts 2:41
You are beginning a changed life in Christ. “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” —Romans 6:4
You are part of a new family. “So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” —Galatians 3:26–27
